I am constantly taken aback at just how faceted human beings are. There is the side that people show their friends, but then there is also the side people show to their families, and the side they show to the outside world. These different sides are not necessarily false impressions of who you are, but together they forge the amalgam which is you. Your personality is but a reflection of those around you, and people who refuse to believe this are the ones that are unsocial, lonely, and unloved. They claim that they are purer because they are themselves no matter who their with. The problem is that they fail to realize that life is all about interpersonal relations. The daily interactions which seem so trivial help to shape our characters. Understanding the importance of others as extensions of ourselves is a great step in comming to appreciate and enjoy life.
