A post just for Simply.
The explosion of the Internet as a viable and convenient tool for communication has opened new doors for interactivity and rich streaming content. Still, there are limitations.
There is no such thing as body language on the net. Online, you cannot tell sarcasm from seriousness. People cannot figure your intentions from the inflections in your words. Still, we have a tool. Sure, we could always add words to our sentences, ie:
You’re so hot! *sarcasm* -or-
I love you so much! *truly*
but emoticons were invented to do the same thing in a more concise and aesthetic way.
You’re so hot! =\ -or-
You’re so nice Simply! ^____^
That concludes today’s rant. Thank you and good day!
BTW, I was trying to remember the word that means, “the study of body language.” Anyone remember?
